About Me
Why I became a Rolfer®
As a former gymnast, acrobatics instructor and biologist, the current fascial research coming to light strongly affirms the philosophy and principles of Rolfing® developed by Dr Ida P Rolf. While I have training in Reiki, studied Anatomy, Kinesiology and Physiology for my BScience and have experience coaching athletes in many sports; I have found the school of thought behind Rolfing not only to be all encompassing, but its simply genius. It was through my own personal experience with injury and loss of mobility that I came to be such a strong advocate of this holistic bodywork practice. I am certain that optimization of natural athletic performance, supportive structural and functional development and grace in aging can be found with Rolfing. Rolfing organizes the body for support, balances tensions to alleviate stress, increases fluidity and mobility in the tissues and makes space for the body to realign itself in gravity. As you can imagine, this frees up vital energy that not only enhances performance, but helps the body be resilient in coping with stress and better able to heal itself. ~Feraille Cowan (Rolfista)
